Patricia Kusumaningtyas is an Indonesian writer, stage manager, and tech worker based in Brooklyn, New York.

Their writing spans many genres, including poetry, plays, and film and music criticism.

Her poetry has been featured in Roi Fainéant Press, HaluHalo Journal, Dead End Zine, Poetry is a Team Sport, Culinary Origami Journal, underscore_magazine, and Omong-Omong. They are a member of the 2025 Brooklyn Poets Mentorship cohort.

As a cultural critic, her work takes on many forms – she was an editor of the Sound Check profiles section of the Jakarta-based Speed of Sound Magazine and her music writing has been published in Major 7th Magazine and L’Ephemere Review. Their film criticism has been published in Our Home in the Dark, Arisan, and ACV CineVue. She has covered and worked numerous film festivals, including as an official correspondent for the 2022 Asian American International Film Festival and speaking in the Filmmaker vs Critic Cinema Showdown panel at the 2024 Indonesian Film Festival New York. She is a member and an organizer at the Indonesian Film Forum New York.

Their full-length play “Some Things Last a Long Time” was performed as a stage reading at The Drama League in 2022. Their short play “Al Pacino Eyes” was performed as part of the Off-Off-Broadway 2022 Short Play Festival at the Players Theater in New York. They have stage managed multiple performances of new and emerging plays, such as “First Sight” as part of the 2023 SheNYC Festival at the Connelly Theater, “My Body, My Health, My Choice!” as part of the 2023 New York Theater Festival at the Teatro LATEA, and “Just Call Me Kartini” at NYU Tisch in 2024.

Her op-eds and other writing has been published in Whiteboard Journal, Dewi Magazine, Indonesia Mengglobal, and Magdalene.

Their work focuses on Indonesian identity in the diaspora, the city as character, communities real and imagined, and the constant search for love.

They hold a Bachelors degree in computer science from Columbia University, and is currently working as a technical business analyst/project manager. She lives in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York.
